I want to make a large album of Beautiful Ratargul Swamp Forest.

The evergreen forest is situated by the river Goain and linked with the
cannel Chengir Khal. The water is not salty like sundarban, and part of
the trees use to be under the water. Moreover, the trees from that forest
are habituated in such a ways that they can even survive in water.

 The reflection of Ratargul Swamp Forest.

In sundarban, the water level is controlled by the high and low tidesfrom the river, ocean. But in Ratargul the water is only controlled by therainy season. At other seasons, there will be hardly any water inside theforest. Those rainy season waters are in fact overflowed water from haorand rivers.

Everyday many visitors are visiting there.

Ratargul Swamp Forest

Ratargul Swamp Forest is a freshwater swamp forest located in Gowainghat ,
Sylhet , Bangladesh . It is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and one of
the few freshwater swamp forest in the world. The forest is naturally conserved
under the Department of Forestry, Govt. of Bangladesh.
The evergreen forest is situated by the river Goain and linked with the cannel
Chengir Khal . Most of the trees grow here are Pongamia pinnata ( Koroch tree ).
The forest goes under 20-30 feet water in the rainy season. Rest of the year the
water level is about 10 feet deep.

রাতারগুল জলাবন

রাতারগুল জলাবন বা রাতারগুল সোয়াম্প ফরেস্ট ( ইংরেজি : Ratargul
Swamp Forest) বাংলাদেশের একমাত্র জলাবন বা সোয়াম্প ফরেস্ট
এবং বন্যপ্রাণী অভয়ারণ্য। বনের আয়তন ৩,৩২৫.৬১ একর, আর এর মধ্যে ৫০৪
একর বনকে ১৯৭৩ সালে বন্যপ্রাণী অভয়ারণ্য হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা
হয়।
বর্ষাকালে এই বনে অথৈ জল থাকে চার মাস। তারপর ছোট ছোট
খালগুলো হয়ে যায় পায়ে-চলা পথ। আর তখন পানির আশ্রয় হয় বন
বিভাগের খোঁড়া বিলগুলোতে। সেখানেই আশ্রয় নেয় জলজ
প্রাণীকুল।

অবস্থান

সিলেট জেলার গোয়াইনঘাটের ফতেহপুর ইউনিয়নে, গুয়াইন নদীর
দক্ষিণে এই বনের অবস্থান। বনের দক্ষিণ দিকে আবার রয়েছে দুটি
হাওর: শিমুল বিল হাওর ও নেওয়া বিল হাওর। সিলেট শহর থেকে এর

দূরত ২৬ কিলোমিটার।
